Strong links with our customers

In the field of engineering, our commitment exposes our teams to risks and dangers when working on industrial sites. Given the variations in safety rules depending on the industry and co-activity, we recently organised a CHOVET safety seminar at the Groupe Vicat site in Montalieu, one of our preferred customers. What better way to discuss risks and hazards with one voice than on a customer's site? We would like to express our gratitude to : Groupe Vicat for its warm welcome and its enlightening account of the safety requirements of an enclosed worksite. Trédi Groupe Séché Environnement for sharing the dangers inherent in working together. Our own employees who actively participated in the various stages of this seminar. Our partner Presents for presenting the various legal and administrative aspects in an accessible way. It's important to stress that our commitment to risk information and training is not limited to this one seminar. We have a number of actions and highlights planned for the start of the year, including the production of our new Document Unique d'Evaluation des Risques Professionnels (DUERP). We remain resolutely committed to maintaining high safety standards throughout our operations.

Running internal team

Our teams like to challenge themselves in their work, just as they do in sport. Some come to work every day by bike. Others train together and form a small running group. We support these initiatives and are proud to have them carry the company name among the 11500 participants in the RunInLyon 2023 - 10 km.

New innovative project with Enertime

Faced with economic and environmental challenges, we are supporting new projects in heavy industry, providing project management and technical advice for ENERTIME SA and its subsidiary Energie Circulaire. ENERTIME designs and installs systems for recovering waste heat to produce electricity using ORC technology. Our team of engineers was able to learn about this innovative technology during a visit to a reference site equipped with an ENERTIME machine. The system recovers waste heat from the filter outlet of an incinerator to produce electricity at a power of 800 kWe.

Member of WCA

CHOVET becomes an associate member of the World Cement Association (WCA) founded in 2016. As independent organization, WCA supports a sustainable cement industry, encouraging technical development and innovation among its members to achieve complete decarbonization.

Feed-back Glasman Latin America 2022

We are delighted with our participation in the first Glassman Latin America trade fair held in Monterrey, Mexico, last May.
With our subsidiary Chovet-DB2i México, we were able to meet our customers, exchange with major players in the glass market and make promising contacts with new prospects.
See you at the next edition in 2024!

A new slag conveyor for Syctom in St Ouen - France

The waste-to-energy plant in Saint Ouen (93) treats the household waste of nearly 2 million inhabitants of 17 surrounding municipalities.
We were commissioned by Dalkia Wastenergy, recently acquired by the Paprec group, to replace a vibrating slag conveyor as part of a turnkey contract.
Our mission is not limited to the study of the integration of the new conveyor in the existing site. We are in charge of supplying the new vibrating conveyor and the corresponding electrical equipment. We carry out the civil works as well as the mechanical and electrical assembly works.
The particularity of this project is the fact of working in the existing site, with a great number of constraints and a part of coactivity.
The conveyor made in Germany was delivered to the site in mid-May. We will accompany its commissioning, planned for the very first days of June.

A major study for the materials market

Our client Etex Building Performance wanted to double its plasterboard Siniat production capacity without disrupting its plant. Working on an active site requires the implementation of drastic safety measures including noise, dust and vibration.

We are responsible for costing the global investment by analysing the project in terms of process and technology as well as HSE aspects.

With our engineering expertise in related markets, our teams break down, conceptualise and model the new module. At our client's request, we take care to integrate a large number of parameters to facilitate its duplication on future sites. Our costing method and the quality of the 3D models allow us to stand out.

Increased presence in the building materials market

With our expertise in our core business, we are developing our presence in the building materials market.
Indeed, the integration of the customer's process for the transformation of basic materials into finished products is a practice that we master in particular in the glass, cement and industrial minerals markets.
After conducting a feasibility study, Saint-Gobain Isonat entrusted us with the project management of the various scopes of carpentry, civil engineering and services (piping and electricity) for the construction of a second wood fiber insulation production line and a dryer to be delivered by the end of the year.
Today, our expertise extends to other materials (gypsum boards, glass wool, rock wool, etc.), both in France and internationally.

New Glass project in Mexico

Owen-Illinois has entrusted us with the complete design for the rebuild of one of its furnaces at its Querétaro plant in Mexico. Our teams will study the refractories, auxiliary systems, cooling systems, electrical distribution and structural modifications required.
Beyond the technical challenge, the world leader in glass containers has confirmed its confidence in our ability to manage large-scale projects.
More than ever, our subsidiary CHOVET-DB2i Mexico continues its strong development in Latin America and expands its local teams with several recruitments.

New flow study for Trimet

TRIMET Aluminium SE, a company specialized in aluminum manufacturing, asked us to carry out a flow study for its plant in St Jean de Maurienne.
Construction work on the Lyon-Turin railway line will lead to the suspension of traffic, which has a major impact for our client. He needs to have sufficient alumina stockpiles for two four-week periods without rail access, scheduled for 2026 and 2029.
We undertook a feasibility study for the customer to find the most suitable solution from a technical and economic point of view.

Rebuilding of a glass furnace in Seville

O-I Glass is a group operating in more than 22 countries in Europe, Asia and America. As a glass container manufacturer, O-I Glass is committed to increasing the proportion of recycled content in its production.
CHOVET participated in the rebuilding of the furnace in Seville (Spain). The project also included the replacement of two of the four production lines, which were stopped during the works.
From 2020, we carried out the engineering of the new lines and prepared the specifications for the scope of fabrications, supplies and assembly (structures, platforms, boilerwork, piping, ventilation). After this initial phase, we followed up on the detailed studies and supplies, and then supervised the work, general installation and commissioning of the facilities in our scope. We sent one of our staff to the site for 10 weeks, with the help of a local supervisor. The challenge was to manage the coactivity with all the risks that this can entail and to maintain an ambitious schedule in the particular sanitary context. A successful challenge!
